A heartfelt message penned by Fusion Antibodies CEO:
“A year ago my life stopped – the day I learned of Jody’s sudden passing on October 10th 2019.
So many questions what?, how?, why? His loved ones Emily, Carter, Kaleb and his wife and soul mate Amanda. One immediately stops. We look at life, what are we doing? what is our purpose? Are we prioritising what is important in our lives?
Now, the reality of Jody’s passing has started to sink in… I know I speak for myself and all of his friends at Fusion when I say that it was a privilege to know and work with Jody.
I want to give an example of the man and his can do attitude. Jody found me/Fusion in November 2016 and persisted and persuaded the team at Fusion that he should be our first remote Business Development US/Canadian representative for Fusion Antibodies.
Integrity shone from his soul – this combined with his knowledge and understanding of antibody drug projects and people made him a natural. Making people he never met believe and trust in him and ergo Fusion.
I first had the pleasure of meeting him F2F at BIO2017 in San Diego with a friend, Sam Mercer. We went to many more conferences and Jody embraced life both work and play.
The centre of his universe was his family and he spoke about them often – anyone could see what a proud father he was. Jody’s life was too short, but a life well lived. Representing a true Canadian spirit, he ventured far and wide giving his family a life full of experiences and memories they will treasure forever.
My thoughts, condolences and prayers return to Amanda and his family and friends you will be forever in our hearts and Jody will be forever Fusion.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Jody! Sadly gone, but not forgotten.”
RIP Paul Kerr
